Explore Southwark Cathedral and the surrounding environment with experts. In the morning, explore the Cathedral, uncovering its long and varied history. Discover connections with London’s hospitals, the theatre land of Shakespeare’s day and the Bishops who held power over the area with a Cathedral guide. (approx. 60 minutes). Then either join your coordinator for lunch in the Cathedral Café or perhaps venture to nearby Borough Market with its plethora of choices before meeting up again at 2pm for a Bankside Walk of approx. 90 minutes. The walk includes a palace ruin, the site of the famous Clink prison, St Mary Overy Dock, and the many sites associated with Shakespeare.
